SUMMARY OF OUR KING LAWS

We were not required to have a King,

as it is written in Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:14

יהוה (Yahuah) shall choose a King to Rule over Israel,

as it is written in Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:15

 The King over Yisrael Must Be Chosen from the Brethren,

as it is written in Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:15

The King must not multiply horses,

as it is written in Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:16

The King must not multiply wives to himself,

as it is written in Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:17

The King must not greatly multiply silver & gold to himself,

as it is written in Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:17

 The King must obtain copy of the Law from the Levites,

as it is written in Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:18

The King shall Read & Keep the Law throughout his life,

as it is written in Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:18

We are not commanded to place a king to rule over us. This is the law should we desire a King like the other nations, which we did. We can not go back anymore to the state of not having a King. Yahuah promised David that his seed would always sit on the throne, forever.

A KING TO RULE OVER ISRAEL WAS NOT REQUIRED, as it is written…

Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:

14 When thou art come unto the land which יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

14כי תבא אל הארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך וירשתה וישבתה בה ואמרת אשימה עלי מלך ככל הגוים אשר סביבתי׃

יהוה (Yahuah) MUST CHOOSE THE KING FOR ISRAEL, as it is written…

Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym shall choose:

15שום תשים עליך מלך אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו מקרב אחיך תשים עליך מלך לא תוכל לתת עליך איש נכרי אשר לא אחיך הוא׃

THE KING OF ISRAEL MUST BE FROM AMONG YOUR PEOPLE, as it is written…

Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

15שום תשים עליך מלך אשר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו מקרב אחיך תשים עליך מלך לא תוכל לתת עליך איש נכרי אשר לא אחיך הוא׃

THE KING OF ISRAEL MUST NOT MULTIPLY HORSES, as it is written…

Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM)17:16

But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as יהוה (Yahuah) hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

16רק לא ירבה לו סוסים ולא ישיב את העם מצרימה למען הרבות סוס ויהוה אמר לכם לא תספון לשוב בדרך הזה עוד׃

THE KING OF ISRAEL MUST NOT MULTIPLY WIVES, as it is written…

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away:

17ולא ירבה לו נשים ולא יסור לבבו וכסף וזהב

THE KING OF ISRAEL NOT MULTIPLY GOLD & SILVER, as it is written…

Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:17

… neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

לא ירבה לו מאד׃

THE KING OF ISRAEL MUST OBTAIN A COPY OF THE BOOK OF THE FROM THE LEVITES, as it is written…

Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:18

And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

18והיה כשבתו על כסא ממלכתו וכתב לו את משנה התורה הזאת על ספר מלפני הכהנים הלוים׃

THE KING SHALL READ THE BOOK OF THE LAW AND DO THEM, as it is written…

Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 17:19

And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear יהוה (Yahuah) his Alaheym, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

19והיתה עמו וקרא בו כל ימי חייו למען ילמד ליראה את יהוה אלהיו לשמר את כל דברי התורה הזאת ואת החקים האלה לעשתם׃

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

20לבלתי רום לבבו מאחיו ולבלתי סור מן המצוה ימין ושמאול למען יאריך ימים על ממלכתו הוא ובניו בקרב ישראל׃

Read 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings and so forth.

A KING TO RULE OVER ISRAEL WAS NOT REQUIRED, as it is written…
