Torah Concerning Joining the Nations of the World

Leviticus 20:24

But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am יהוה (Yahuah) your Alaheym, which have separated you from other people.

24ואמר לכם אתם תירשו את אדמתם ואני אתננה לכם לרשת אתה ארץ זבת חלב ודבש אני יהוה אלהיכם אשר הבדלתי אתכם מן העמים׃

MAKE NO COVENANTS WITH OTHER NATIONS

Exodus שמות (ShuMuTh) 23:32-33

[32] Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

[33] They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

32לא תכרת להם ולאלה יהם ברית׃

33לא ישבו בארצך פן יחטיאו אתך לי כי תעבד את אלה יהם כי יהיה לך למוקש׃

Exodus שמות (ShuMuTh) 34:12-16

[12] Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:

[13] But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

[14] For thou shalt worship no other god: for יהוה (Yahuah), whose name is Jealous, is a jealous Alaheym:

[15] Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods , and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;

[16] And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.

12השמר לך פן תכרת ברית ליושב הארץ אשר אתה בא עליה פן יהיה למוקש בקרבך׃

13כי את מזבחתם תת צון ואת מצבתם תשברון ואת אשריו תכרתון׃

14כי לא תשתחוה לאל אחר כי יהוה קנא שמו אל קנא הוא׃

15פן תכרת ברית ליושב הארץ וזנו אחרי אלה יהם וזבחו לאלה יהם וקרא לך ואכלת מזבחו׃

16ולקחת מבנתיו לבניך וזנו בנתיו אחרי אלהיהן והזנו את בניך אחרי אלהיהן׃

DO NOT LEARN THE WAYS OF THE NATIONS

Deuteronomy דבר ים (DaBaR’eyM) 18:9-14

[9] When thou art come into the land which יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

[10] There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

[11] Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

[12] For all that do these things are an abomination unto יהוה (Yahuah): and because of these abominations יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym doth drive them out from before thee.

[13] Thou shalt be perfect with יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym.

[14] For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym hath not suffered thee so to do.

9כי אתה בא אל הארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך לא תלמד לעש ות כתועבת הגוים ההם׃

10לא ימצא בך מעביר בנו ובתו באש קסם קסמים מעונן ומנחש ומכשף׃

11וחבר חבר ושאל אוב וידעני ודרש אל המת ים׃

12כי תועבת יהוה כל עשה אלה ובגלל התועבת האלה יהוה אלהיך מוריש אותם מפניך׃

13תמים תהיה עם יהוה אלהיך׃

14כי הגוים האלה אשר אתה יורש אותם אל מעננים ואל קסמים ישמעו ואתה לא כן נתן לך יהוה אלהיך׃

DO NOT MAKE COVENANTS or MARRIAGES WITH OTHER NATIONS

Deuteronomy דבר ים (DaBaR’eyM) 7:1-5

[1] When יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

[2] And when יהוה (Yahuah) thy Alaheym shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

[3] Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

[4] For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of יהוה (Yahuah) be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

[5] But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

1כי יביאך יהוה אלהיך אל הארץ אשר אתה בא שמה לרשתה ונשל גוים רב ים מפניך החתי והגרגשי וה אמרי וה כנ עני והפרזי והחוי והיבוסי שבעה גוים רב ים ועצו מים ממך׃

2ונתנם יהוה אלהיך לפניך וה כיתם החרם תחרים אתם לא תכרת להם ברית ולא תחנם׃

3ולא תתחתן בם בתך לא תתן לב נו ובתו לא תקח לבנך׃

4כי יסיר את בנך מאחרי ועבדו אלהים אחר ים וחרה אף יהוה בכם וה שמ ידך מהר׃

5כי אם כה תעשו להם מזבחתיהם תת צו ומצבתם תשברו ואשירהם תגדעון ופסיליהם תשרפון באש׃

6For thou art an holy people unto יהוה (Yahuah) thy God: יהוה (Yahuah) thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7יהוה (Yahuah) did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: 8But because יהוה (Yahuah) loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath יהוה (Yahuah) brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9Know therefore that יהוה (Yahuah) thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; 10And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face. 11Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
